Stewart’s motion picture industry career started
when he joined National Screen Service Corporation writing trailer
scripts for major studio releases in Hollywood. After management
stints with NSS in Chicago, New York, New Orleans and Atlanta, Stewart
attained the post of Executive VP – World Wide Sales Manager.
In 1970 Stewart organized his own production - distribution company, Harnell Independent Productions, and later founded Cinema Concepts in 1977 to produce branding and policy trailers for the theatre exhibition community. During the course of his noteworthy career, Stewart has been on the forefront of pre-feature theatrical programs from concept and design, to film and digital execution.
He has been an active board member of the Foundation of Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers, eight-term president of Variety of Georgia Tent 21 where he was honored with the Presidential Citation, as well as a member of the board of directors of CAC (Cinema Advertising Council) and long standing supporter of American Film Institute, Georgia Production Partnership and National Association of Concessionaires.
Stewart is currently active once again in feature film production with the founding of Cinema Concepts Films, having completed it’s first independent release, “KATHY T ” as well as executive producer of an untitlted documentary which chronicles the history of "House Music", an underground genre of electronic dance music. The documentary is written and directed by his son Steve Harnell of "Thirteen32 Productions, LLC.
